How instructors can encourage underrepresented students to persist

Geri Richmond talks about personal outreach, classroom observation, and other methods of encouraging STEM minority students.

Dr. Geri Richmond is the Presidential President of Science and Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oregon, advocates for women in STEM, and is awarded the 2013 National Medal of Science.

“An Evening With Geri Richmond” took place on May 8, 2019 at Portland State University. Dr. Susan Jeffords, rector of Portland State University, moderated the conversation.
